We Are Suffering From Spiritual Heart Disease

Updated: Sep 26, 2021

We are living in a society that is suffering from chronic heart disease... spiritual heart disease. As one of the most important organs in the body, it is also one of the most important spiritual centers in the energy body. There is a reason I focus on the heart so much in my work. The heart is vital to a solid, pure and well intentioned spiritual practice as well as an authentic and unconditionally joyful life.

We as a modern community have the belief that the heart is a weak and untrustworthy source of guidance. Along with the demands of capitalism and an overall responsibility towards creating a life based on survival, we have pushed the heart into retreat, shrinking its light and diminishing its influence on our lives. It is no wonder why cardiovascular disease is the number one cause of death in the world.

To further complicate matters, we also believe that if we give ourselves permission to be in a relationship, the heart must be open. (It would only make sense that the heart is open if we're in a relationship right? Ehhh) We attribute the heart to merely feeling attraction for another, when the reality is something much more revealing.

The heart is so much more than an organ that causes "sensations" when we are in "love." The heart is not "weak", it has been abandoned. The heart is not treacherous, it is the most trustworthy source of guidance in this lifetime. The heart must be healed. It must be nurtured. It must be protected...but in the right way.

Furthermore, being in a relationship is not an accurate indicator of heart openness, especially as people typically enter relationships for all the wrong reasons. (We'll save that topic for another day)

We as a society must release these beliefs surrounding the heart if we ever hope to truly evolve. It is my hope to bridge the gap between the physical world and the realms of the heart so that people can live a life based on unconditional happiness.

Much love,

Saiedah
